Six large roundels on a black ground, two across and three down: two red, two white, two in mixed colours, each filled with small flowers and ringed by a scalloped edge, with sprigs and dots in the black between them. A yellow border with a red edge frames the field. This is the layout Uzbek embroiderers of the Tashkent and Fergana towns called a palak, a “sky” of moon-discs — where this particular piece was made we have not confirmed, so we do not say.
At 204 × 144 cm it is a bed-sized cloth. Silk on cotton, hand-embroidered in the Soviet period; vintage, with the deep black and saturated reds of its time and the honest irregularities of hand work.

Over a single bed as a spread, or on a wall at least 2.1 m wide with the roundels reading as a grid.
