Periwinkle fans open across a strong yellow ground, each one drawn like a spread palm. Yellow and blue at equal strength is a difficult balance to hold across a warp, and this one holds.

Where it goes
It lifts a grey, white or charcoal sofa, and warms a room that gets little direct sun. See the rest of the lumbar cushion covers, or the square ikat pillow covers in the same cloth.
How this ikat is made
The pattern is tied and dyed into the warp threads before a single row is woven — abrbandi, the cloud-binding. Every soft edge on this cover is the dye finding its way past a tie, which is why no two lumbar covers off the same bolt are identical. The cloth is handwoven in Margilan, in the Fergana Valley; the cover is cut and sewn in our own workshop in Bukhara.
Sewn to order and dispatched from Bukhara within 24 hours by Uzbekiston Pochtasi tracked airmail: USA 9–18 working days, Europe and the UK 8–16, elsewhere 10–20. Custom sizes take 2–3 working days.
