One of two green-ground pieces in the shop, and the one from Samarkand: a green cotton ground with rows of white S-shaped scrolls, each pair enclosing a roundel of red and orange, the rows repeating to a plain edge. The motifs are few and large, and the green is a true mid-green rather than the olive of the paisley throw, so the piece reads fresh rather than dark.
Silk thread on cotton, hand-embroidered in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Newly embroidered for Alesouk in the traditional stitches; it arrives clean, even and bright.
