A near-square suzani, 138 × 134 cm, with the finest stitching in this section. At the centre a yellow sunburst — dozens of radiating petals around a red heart — sits inside a cream ring; around it an octagon is drawn in purple-pink vines dense with white and green leaves and buds, and at the four sides of the octagon a cream motif like a bud or a bird’s head points outward. Beyond the octagon the black ground carries more vines to a border of cream and red flowers, with a pink chevron band inside it. Every centimetre is worked.
