Red forms like opened tulips are mirrored across an indigo ground, with small cream accents holding the middle. Blue and red are the oldest pairing in Uzbek ikat and this is a plain, unfussy version of it.

How this ikat is made
The pattern is tied and dyed into the warp threads before a single row is woven — abrbandi, the cloud-binding. On a cover this long you see the repeat run its full course rather than framed in a square, and every soft edge is the dye finding its way past a tie. The cloth is handwoven in Margilan, in the Fergana Valley; the cover is cut and sewn in our own workshop in Bukhara.
