Steel-blue branching medallions on white, with a paler blue laid inside them so the motif has depth rather than a flat outline. The branches spread almost the full width of the cloth, which gives it the look of an old robe silk. Forty per cent silk, sixty cotton, so slightly firmer than the half-silks.

Handmade note
Handwoven on a wooden loom, so expect what the loom leaves: motif edges that feather where the warp shifted, a hairline of colour variation along the length, and a selvedge that is not perfectly straight. The pattern is dyed into the thread, not printed on it, and shows on both faces — the test described in our handwoven versus printed ikat guide. Colours differ slightly between dyelots, so order the full length you need at once.
Availability
This cloth is out of stock. Ikat is woven in small runs, so a design is not always on the shelf — but this one can be woven again. If you would like it, tell us through the contact page and we will let you know when it can be woven and how long it will take. A new dyelot may differ slightly in colour from the photograph.
