Brown & White Silk Ikat Fabric – Large Chevron

A two-colour chevron in a warm mid-brown on white, drawn much larger than our 40 cm zigzags — on the 50 cm loom each point of the chevron spans a hand’s breadth, and the feathered edges are correspondingly long. It is the most neutral cloth in the silk section and sits with wood, leather and linen without effort. Sixty per cent silk, forty cotton, 50 cm wide.

Suitable uses

Handmade note

Handwoven on a wooden loom, so expect what the loom leaves: motif edges that feather where the warp shifted, a hairline of colour variation along the length, and a selvedge that is not perfectly straight. The pattern is dyed into the thread, not printed on it, and shows on both faces. Colours differ slightly between dyelots, so order the full length you need at once.
