Hot Pink & Black Silk Ikat Fabric – Chevron

Hot pink and black, in the chevron layout: the pink is a warm magenta that sits between fuchsia and rose, and the black zigzags across it in stripes whose edges feather into the pink. It was listed for a season under Pantone’s ‘Viva Magenta’; the cloth outlasts the fashion. Sixty per cent silk in the warp gives the pink a sheen that changes as the cloth moves; forty per cent cotton keeps it sewable. 40 cm wide.

Suitable uses

Handmade note

Handwoven on a wooden loom, so expect what the loom leaves: motif edges that feather where the warp shifted, a hairline of colour variation along the length, and a selvedge that is not perfectly straight. The pattern is dyed into the thread, not printed on it, and shows on both faces. Colours differ slightly between dyelots, so order the full length you need at once.
