Turquoise & Gold Silk Ikat Fabric – Large Feathered Scrolls

Turquoise and gold in equal measure: large scrolling shapes, half leaf and half wave, where one colour becomes the other through a feathered edge and there is no ground at all. Seventy per cent silk to thirty cotton, so the gold has a real gloss and the cloth drapes like a dress fabric. 40 cm wide.

Handmade note

Handwoven on a wooden loom, so expect what the loom leaves: motif edges that feather where the warp shifted, a hairline of colour variation along the length, and a selvedge that is not perfectly straight. The pattern is dyed into the thread, not printed on it, and shows on both faces. Colours differ slightly between dyelots, so order the full length you need at once.
