Initially, trays were made of copper – so tospeak, this is a classic version, and all the antique, as well as modern versions of expensive products are represented by copper models. The fact is that since the 18th century, copper has been recognized as a relatively expensive material, and not everyone had the material opportunity to purchase such an accessory. However, the demand for these products did not decrease at all, and savvy craftsmen quickly found an alternative option – brass, or rather, a brass-copper alloy (the components were taken in approximately the same proportions). In addition to the low price, brass had another advantage over copper – it was much stronger. In order to give a more marketable appearance, these trays are made of silver brass, which made it possible to hide an unpreventable olive color. Another improvement of the invention was the coating with nickel – applying this metal to the surface of the brass tray, it turned out to give a bright surface shine, and also provide additional protection!
