Forest Green, Blue & White Silk Ikat Fabric – Large Palmettes

A green-ground adras: forest green fills the width and large white palmettes, veined in blue with a red dot at the heart, sit on it in columns, their edges feathering into the green. Dark grounds are the minority in Uzbek ikat and this one is generous with the white, so the cloth reads as pattern rather than as a plain from across a room. Half silk, half cotton; 42 cm wide.

Suitable uses

Handmade note

Handwoven on a wooden loom, so expect what the loom leaves: motif edges that feather where the warp shifted, a hairline of colour variation along the length, and a selvedge that is not perfectly straight. The pattern is dyed into the thread, not printed on it, and shows on both faces. Colours differ slightly between dyelots, so order the full length you need at once.
