The practice of carpet weaving has persisted and evolved throughout Asia history. By the end of the 14th century, these rugs had started to reach European households, churches and castles. So, travellers and traders in the Middle East started carrying the rugs back with them. “Central Asia Hand Made Rugs” originated in the 16th century, in which designs and colours on the rug were decided by palace artists and then sent to weaving centres. The patterns of this period, consisting of twisting branches, leaves and flowers, such as tulips, horns and hyacinths, were woven in a naturalistic fashion and laid out the basic structure of the rug. This style can still be found on Central Asia rugs today.
