Chartreuse, Coral & White Silk Ikat Fabric – Atomic Yellow

The old listing called the colour atomic yellow and it is close: a sharp yellow-green, nearer chartreuse than lemon, with coral-red and white leaf shapes feathering across it in loose columns. The silk warp gives the yellow a wet-looking gloss in daylight. It is a cloth for people who want colour and are not nervous about it. Sixty per cent silk, forty cotton; 50 cm wide.

Suitable uses

Handmade note

Handwoven on a wooden loom, so expect what the loom leaves: motif edges that feather where the warp shifted, a hairline of colour variation along the length, and a selvedge that is not perfectly straight. The pattern is dyed into the thread, not printed on it, and shows on both faces — the test described in our handwoven versus printed ikat guide. Colours differ slightly between dyelots, so order the full length you need at once.
