What Is Uzbek Ikat Fabric?
Ikat is one of Central Asia’s most recognizable textile traditions. Before the fabric is woven, the silk or cotton threads are carefully tied and dyed to create soft, cloud-like patterns. When the threads are placed on the loom, the design appears inside the weave itself – not printed on the surface.
